Principles: Peptones serve as nutrient substrates for the multiplication of Pseudomonas. The chromogenic substrate in the medium is hydrolysed by Pseudomonas, resulting in pale blue to blue-green colonies. The selective system and cephalosporin inhibit secondary flora.
