This medium allows direct detection and enumeration without additional purification steps or biochemical confirmation.

Helpful Tips:
- Use BPW, Tryptone salt or another diluent according to NF EN ISO 6887.
- Prepare COMPASS® Bacillus cereus medium with a vial of base and a vial of selective supplement.
- Count petri dishes with less than 150 characteristic colonies.
Detection technology:

- Prepare a 10% dilution of the food sample in Peptone water.
- Homogenise the sample for 1 minute.
- Apply dilutions to the surface of COMPASS® Bacillus cereus Agar plates.
- Incubate the plates at 37°C for 24 hours.
- Examine for typical Bacillus cereus colonies and confirm identification.
- Report the results as the number of colonies per gram of food sample.
