Product information

Tryptone USP is suitable for a wide range of uses in general bacteriology for the manufacture of culture media. Due to its high tryptophan content, it is used for indole detection. As it contains no fermentable carbohydrates, it is used in media for the study of sweet fermentations. Because of its compatibility and complementarity with other ingredients, peptones or extracts, Tryptone USP is used in the composition of media for the culture and enumeration of germs in water, milk, other food products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics. Combined with papainic soy peptone, it is used in the preparation of broth and casein-soy agar.
