The Chloramphenicol Selective Supplement 50 mg, supplied as a lyophilized preparation, inhibits the development of most bacterial contaminants, thereby favoring the isolation of yeasts and molds. The supplement can substitute for the Oxytetracycline supplement recommended in the routine The supplement can also be added to Sabouraud Agar, (BK025), to obtain Sabouraud Chloramphenicol Agar, which also exists in complete dehydrated form (BK007).
