Dichloran-Glycrol (DG18) base - agar 500g

Dichloran-Glycerol Agar (DG 18) is recommended for the enumeration of yeasts and moulds growing on a medium with low water activity (Aw less than 0.95). It is particularly suitable for the enumeration and isolation of xerophilic moulds in dehydrated or poorly hydrated products with high sugar or salt content, dried fruit, cereals, biscuits, flours and other dehydrated meat or fish products intended for human or animal consumption. The medium reduces the size of mould thallus and yeast colonies to facilitate their counting.
